Youth Edible Empowerment
We use multiple curriculums in this program series to connect culinary exercises with common themes of empowerment for junior high and high school aged youth.
Cooking is an engaging classroom experience that incorporates math, literacy, critical thinking and even social studies into a hands-on learning exercise that provides immediate results. Its the perfect activity to encourage growth and development for a young mind while inciting a sense of passion and purpose.
Starting at junior high school age, students will work with basic cooking methods to gain literacy in the culinary techniques that are most commonly used to create the staple dishes they enjoy in their everyday diet. Our curriculum is designed to teach a basic life skill that emphasizes lessons of self-empowerment, all while being intentional around extracting the scholastic development that’s available when working with recipes and executing step by step instructions.
